Iwashita Akihiro’s lecture at Shanghai International Studies University

This summer, for two weeks, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) has been holding a summer school called ‘Global Management and building global cities’. On 18th July, Iwashita Akihiro gave a lecture to the summer school as part of his role in the National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU) Area Studies Project for Northeast Asia. The lecture was organized thanks to Professor Yang Cheng (SISU), a researcher with a longstanding relationship with the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center (SRC). Excluding Beijing, the lecture was attended by almost 200 students from across China. The interest of the younger generation of Chinese was evident: including time for questions the lecture lasted for over two and a half hours. SISU is enthusiastic about strengthening its relationship with the SRC. We look forward to encouraging joint research and visiting fellowships in the near future.
